Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have vandalized a construction site in Yobe, stealing some 125kg of dynamite and hundreds of detonators, security sources told Reuters on Wednesday. According to the report, the insurgents stormed the Bara area of Yobe State at about 2 a.m. on Monday. No shots were fired, but the militants reportedly overpowered private security guards on the site in a hand to hand combat. Defence Headquarters sends fact-finding team to Yobe following school massacre

Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters on Tuesday dispatched a fact-finding team to Yobe State where suspected Boko Haram fighters attacked a boarding school and killed at least 30 students. In a statement issued in Abuja, the DHQ’s spokesman Brigadier General Chris Olukolade said the fact-finding team is being led by Major General Collins Ariahu, Chief of Research and Development in the defense ministry. Yobe State shuts down all secondary schools following massacre

The Yobe State government has ordered the shut down of secondary schools across the northeastern state after suspected Boko Haram insurgents staged its deadliest attack yet on a school in its Mamudo district, reportedly killing 42 students. According to reports, military spokesman Lt. Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have attacked yet another school in Potiskum, Yobe State, killing at least 30 students. Police sources say the attackers set fire to buildings on the boarding school campus and opened fire on students as they tried to flee. Nigeria’s military confirmed on Monday that at least seven students and two teachers were killed in an attack on a public school in Damaturu, Yobe state.
