When 62-year-old Peggy Hill reportedly laid a wet one on a police officer, she basically kissed her freedom goodbye. The Florida woman was arrested for allegedly kissing a cop on the nose Saturday evening and jailed on charges of felony battery of a law enforcement officer. Authorities were responding to a report of an altercation between Hill and one of her Bradenton neighbors when the smooch reportedly took place. Hundreds of police officers were rendered homeless in Lagos earlier this week, reports have said. The police men and women, who had been living in the police barracks at Apapa, were evicted after the Police Commissioner in charge of the Port Authority Command, Sherifat Disu Olajoku gave the order to tear down unauthorized shanty homes built within the barracks. The shanties, homes to many officers and their families, had been scheduled for demolition and sources, cited in P.M. Chief priest of the Ombatse cult, Ala Agu, is defending the action his followers who on May 7 slaughtered dozens of police officers he says were sent by the Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al-Makura, to kill him. Lagos state police are reportedly investigating bomb threats made to Shoprite locations in the commercial city. Vanguard reports that a text message was sent to the owner of the mega store. In the message, an unidentified group reportedly threatened to bomb all Shoprite locations in Lagos. The store has locations in shopping malls in Surulere, Ikeja and Victoria Island. Lagos – A 61-year-old Lebanese woman, Alhaja Essa Dannawi, who was kidnapped at her residence in Lagos on May 2, has been rescued by the police, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Manko, said on Thursday. Nasarawa death toll rises, police say 46 officers killed in cult ambush

Nasarawa state police spokesman Sergie Ezegam has confirmed that Nigerian cult militants killed 46 police officers in Tuesday’s attack. Ezegam gave the new death toll on Thursday. The cult militants, identified as Ombatse, which means “time has come”, ambushed police officers who attempted to arrest the group’s leader. The attack happened in Alakio, a village not far from Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa. Six suspected fraudsters are being investigated by the Lagos state police for allegedly setting up a fake foundation in the name of the country’s president and vice-president and duping hundreds of people in Ketu. Police foil attack on Mubi north LG chairman

Yola (NAN) – The police on Tuesday night in Mubi, Adamawa foiled an attempt to attack Alhaji Sahabo Jauro, the Chairman of Mubi North Local Government (LG) in the state.
