Teenage bride kills husband over his sexual demands

NAN – The Plateau Police Command on Wednesday in Jos said it had arrested a 17-year-old minor who allegedly killed her husband over his sexual demands. The minor allegedly killed Lawal Bala, 26, in his sleep on their matrimonial bed on July 8. NDLEA seizes cocaine worth N137 million in Lagos airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, says it has seized 12.455kilogrammes of cocaine from four suspects. It also says it recovered cocaine from an abandoned shipment of flasks, the seizures are valued at N137m. The seizures took place at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The cocaine, hidden in the flasks, was said to have originated from Panama, Central America on board a KLM flight. The four suspects, according to Hamza Umar, the NDLEA Airport Commander, are named as Onwuegbuaku Anselm, 35, Ifediora Obunike, 26, Ohaebosun Nickolas, 28, and Nwabueze Kansiriyochukwu, 31. Three police officers charged with selling stolen rams

Abuja (NAN) – The police on Friday arraigned three dismissed police officers in a Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly selling three stolen rams. The former officers are Grace Antozah, 38; Yahaya Alhaji, 30, and Esther Yahaya, 32. They were formerly attached to the Karu Divisional Police Headquarters in Abuja. The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Mohammed Ahmed, said that on April 13, the matter was transferred from the Karu Police Station to the Maitama Division Police Station, for further investigation. Eight people killed in Maiduguri; military warns of more attacks during Eid-el-Fitri

Knife-wielding Boko Haram fighters killed at least eight people in Bui town, 200km south of Maiduguri in Borno State, the Associated Press reported. Witnesses and army officials confirmed the attack, which occurred on Tuesday. The attackers were said to have targeted teachers and Muslim clerics in the town, according to the news agency. Lagos State police could be set to charge Mrs. Nkese Iroakazi with murder after the 11-year old housemaid she allegedly set ablaze last weekend died in hospital. We reported earlier this week, that the child worker, Ita Bassey-Eno, was reportedly lit on fire by her boss for stealing a piece of meat from a soup pot. Fire outbreak destroys Mouka Foam warehouse in Lagos

A fire outbreak at the Mouka Foam industry in Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday, destroying one of the company’s warehouses. The cause of the fire is unclear.  Witnesses say the fire broke out at about 4:00p.m. at one of the warehouses located along Ladipo Oluwole Street in Ikeja. Suspected Boko Haram gunmen attack construction site, steal 125kg of dynamite

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have vandalized a construction site in Yobe, stealing some 125kg of dynamite and hundreds of detonators, security sources told Reuters on Wednesday. According to the report, the insurgents stormed the Bara area of Yobe State at about 2 a.m. on Monday. Five people feared dead after violent attack in Taraba

Five people are feared dead in Tapga village in Taraba State after armed militants from neighbouring Tarok Village in Plateau State were said to have staged a deadly attack. Vanguard reports that other residents of the attacked village suffered serious injuries and adds that many more fled after the attack.
