Soldiers reportedly shoot two civilian bus passengers at check point in Bauchi

Security sources confirmed on Tuesday that soldiers at a check point in Dorazo LGA in Bauchi are being investigated after they opened fire on a commercial bus, killing two civilian passengers. Locals in Dorazo who witnessed the incident reportedly told the Vanguard that the soldiers opened fire because the bus driver made a u-turn upon approaching the check point, raising suspicions. Employer sets 11-year old maid ablaze over a piece of meat

A woman in Lagos was arrested in Tuesday after she allegedly set her 11-year old maid on fire for stealing a piece of meat from her pot of soup. The crime occurred in Bode Thomas in Surulere. The alleged abusive employer of child labour has been identified as Mrs. Nkeses Iroakazi, a staff nurse at a hospital who lives on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street. Rivers State police raid robbery gang hideout, foil planned attack

Police in Rivers State say they foiled on Friday plans for a massive robbery attack on “one of the leading commercial banks in the state.  In a press release, police force spokesman, CSP Frank Mba, said the robbery plan was aborted after “extensive intelligence operation.” Policemen recovered a cache of weapons from the armed robbery gang hideout, located in Mechanic Village in Ihugbo, along East-West Road. Husband, father of three reportedly kidnapped, killed by close friend

Tartseagh Boshien, the father of three who was kidnapped on his way to a wedding, died in a hospital in Makurdi shortly after he was rescued by local farmers, but not before he fingered his friend as the leader of the gang responsible for his death. Lagos State police arrested Shola Opeyemi, a laboratory assistant who allegedly purchased pints of blood from secondary school students in the Orile-Agege area. A 39-year old carpenter in Ogun State has told police that the devil is to blame for his raping a nine-year old girl.
