At least 32 people are feared dead in Benue and Borno states after a series of violent attacks over the weekend. According to reports, 14 people were allegedly killed in a Boko Haram attack in Borno State on Sunday morning, while an attack on Sunday evening in Benue state left at least 18 feared dead. Scorned Abuja woman pours hot oil on ex over marriage refusal

NAN – A Karu Senior Magistrate’s Court, Abuja has sentenced a 25-year-old woman, Victoria Alonge, to one year in jail for pouring hot oil on her boyfriend, Roland Nna, over his refusal to marry her. The Senior Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, sentenced Alonge after the convict admitted to committing the offence. Alonge was arraigned by the police on one count of causing grievous harm on Nna, who lives in Kurudu, Abuja. Oklahoma police are investigating three “bored” teenagers, who allegedly killed a man “for fun”. Christopher Lane, an Australian visiting the town of Duncan, was out on a jog when he was gunned down at random, Police Chief Danny Ford said on Monday. Oscar Pristorius, who stands accused of murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, might be looking to settle out of court. The Associated Press reports that the families of the accused and the victim were in talks on Tuesday, according to a lawyer involved in the case. Nigeria Navy killed 12 pirates off Gulf of Guinea Coast

The Nigerian navy claims it killed 12 pirates in a gun battle off the coast of the Gulf of Guinea last week. Reuters reports that the navy revealed this on Monday. Navy Flag Officer Rear Admiral Sidi-Ali Hassan told reporters that the pirates were killed on August 15 as they attempted to seize the St. Kitts and Nevis-flagged MT Notre. A 30-year old Ekiti State native is facing murder charges after he shot his hunting buddy who he claims he mistook for an antelope. Police arrested Musibau Mustapha for the wrongful death of Sunday Ijasa. Three police officers charged with selling stolen rams

Abuja (NAN) – The police on Friday arraigned three dismissed police officers in a Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly selling three stolen rams. The former officers are Grace Antozah, 38; Yahaya Alhaji, 30, and Esther Yahaya, 32. They were formerly attached to the Karu Divisional Police Headquarters in Abuja. The Police Prosecutor, Sgt.
