Gunmen kill 21 people in Plateau State

There are media reports of a fresh spate of attacks in Plateau State, where gunmen have reportedly killed 21 civilians.

According to Punch newspaper, the gunmen attacked early on Thursday morning in the Kukek community in Baji Kogi Forun district in Barkin Ladi. A resident told the paper that the attackers are suspected cattle rustlers. They targeted a man identified as Tsok Gwom, killin him and eight members of his family, including his five children.

All the victims reportedly died of gunshot wounds.

According to the report, vigilante members of the affected community have already launched reprisal attacks, killing 12 of the alleged 30 gunmen.
