Naked photos of Cynthia Osokogu found on suspect’s laptop

Investigations into the brutal murder of Cynthia Osokogu has revealed that her killers had photographed her in the nude while assaulting her and before they killed her.

The 24-year-old daughter of a retired major general was allegedly raped, robbed and murdered by Nwabufor Okwuomo, a third-year Accounting student at the University of Lagos who she had befriended via BlackBerry messenger.

Police detectives from the Area E command in Lagos are investigating Okwuomo and the Area E commander, Damian Okoro, said more incriminating evidence has been discovered by police.

The Police commander said pictures of Cynthia, as well as Okwuomo’s other female victims were found on a black Compaq 610 belonging to the suspect.

Okoro said over 50 nude demeaning photographs were recovered. The photographs showed the girls tied up, with their mouths cover in duct tape and objects inserted into their private parts. Some naked photographs of Osokogu also emerged. She was seen with bite wounds inflicted all over her body.

The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation on Wednesday said it would sue the management of Cosmilla Hotel in Festac Town in Lagos where Okwuomo had lured and murdered Osokogu, with the aid of an accomplice.

While no employee of the hotel was found guilty in connection to the murder, the NTDC’s Director of Communications, Mr Akin Onipede announced that formal charges will be filed against the hotel for “illegal operation since it was not registered with the corporation”.
