One commercial motorbike rider was killed and six other civilians injured in a multiple auto accident in Abuja, reports have said.

The accident occurred on Karu Bridge, the FRSC said. One official, Mr. Bisi Kazeem said it occurred when a low loader carrying an excavator lost a tyre on the road, causing the chain of accidents.

Zonal coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency in Abuja, Ishaa Isa Chonoko confirmed the accident.

He said: “The excavator fell on the road, causing multiple collisions of about 11 vehicles.” The injured victims were taken to the Asokoro General Hospital for treatment there.
