Two separate explosions have hit police stations in Sokoto state, according to reports.

Associated Press Nigerian correspondent confirmed the explosions in a tweet saying: “Two explosions have struck police stations in northwest Nigeria city of Sokoto.”

Other reports say the attacks were on the Marina Police station and Ungwan Rogo Police station. Assailants had reportedly attempted to gain forced entry past the gates of the Marina station with a car bomb. Only the occupants of the car bomb were allegedly killed in that explosion.

Eye witnesses also reported at least one killed in the attack on Ungwan Rogo police station.
