A boat accident has left three police officers and an INEC officials feared dead in Edo state where governorship elections are coming to a close.

According to reports, the officials were said to have drowned in the riverside community of Ajoki near Ologbo in Edo state. They were transporting electoral materials for Saturday’s elections when the boat capsized and its occupants drowned.

Two police inspectors and one constable were involved in the tragic accident and the electoral materials were also destroyed in the process, making elections impossible for the community.

Police officials are still searching for of the bodies of the victims, Thisday reported.
