Mr. Uchenna Abueme, the Delta state National Youth Service Corps member who was kidnapped two days ago was released on Monday night after spending 28 hours in captivity.

Abueme was kidnapped in Asaba and taken to a hideout in Okpanam, a neighboring town where he was kept in the bush.

He was reportedly abducted by unidentified assailants at about 7:30 a.m. alongside another man, Chinonso Chris. The pair had been driving in a Camry car on Ekeobi Nwandu street in Asaba when the incident happened.

Police officials believe the kidnappers deserted their victims when the found out they were being hunted down by policemen.
