Mogwase (SAPA) – A one-year-old baby has been found buried in a house in Mogwase, North West police said on Tuesday.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the baby’s body was discovered on Monday around 8am after neighbours alerted the police.

“It is believed the baby became weak last week before dying on June 27.”

Ngubane said the baby’s 29-year-old mother and her family decided to bury the child in the house as it was part of their culture.

“No arrests have been made and police are investigating the matter.”
