A car bomb has reportedly exploded near the Banex Plaza in Abuja, Nigeria, reports have said. Residents in the area say the explosion occurred in front of the Park ‘N Shop at Shefiff plaza in the Wuse 2 area. Police barricades have been set up and the area cordoned off as the police, led by the state’s police commissioner.

One resident in the area, Innocent Michael, tweeted about the incident, and said he heard the explosion and knew it was a bomb, adding that the impact of the explosion was felt where he was at a nearby cinema.
