Fresh gunshots and explosions have been reported in the Yobe state capital city of Damaturu on Saturday evening.

Punch Newspapers took to social network, Twitter, to tweet:

“Gunshots, explosions heard in Damaturu, Yobe State on Saturday evening”

African Spotlight reported that the explosions and gunshots were heard in the Nyanya suburb in Damaturu where residents reported the attack. That report says Joint Task Force operatives have been deployed to the area to repel attacks.
