This ad which reads, “See Asia Like Asians Do” was probably not meant to offend. Ukranian travel agency, Multipass Travel had probably meant to invite travelers to see, experience and get to know Asia like locals do, not like tourists. However, the visual final product does not match the intent.
The ad created by Ukranian ad agency, Tabasco, implies that in order to see Asia like Asians one must “screw” their eyes.Visual illustration below.
The idea, the ad states below, was to “make people experience Asia like Asians do”. The solution? “We created outdoor campaign with titles, which can read only if you screw your eyes, in order to see the world as literally as Asians do”.
So… what do you think: racist or just plain stupid?
