The rumor mill has it wrong this time. There will be no wedding between Bayelsa politician Timi Alaibe and beauty queen, Agbani Darego, Alaibe’s aides have said.

The aide, who is a long time associate of the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, said he spoke to Alaibe on Monday night who is “very embarrassed by the speculations in the media”.

“He has no such plan. His immediate concern for now is to raise his children and make them not to feel the absence of their mother who passed on over three years ago,” the anonymous aide told the Times.

He explained that the rumor was brought to Alaibe’s attention by his daughter.

Darego was also shocked by the news of her impending nuptials and expressed as much on Twitter where she writes:

The aide said the families of the politician and beauty queen are close and were equally shocked by the online media speculation.

He added that Alaibe has no immediate plans to re-marry only three years after his late wife, Alari’s passing.
