Kaduna bomb blasts: President Jonathan says he has consolation in God

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday interrupted a Father’s Day church service in Abuja to express his grief at the triple bomb explosion to hit three churches in the restive Kaduna state.

Jonathan said he was saddened by the development in Kaduna when news of the attacks reached him mid service.

“Particularly today, I was quite thrilled about what was going on in the church and when I got the information that while we were here, there were explosions in Kaduna and since I don’t even know the casualty rate and what is happening; I have been quite sad and I didn’t even want to say something.

“But when the priest orders you, you must say something.”

The president said he had consolation in God who is capable of handling every situation and healing the nation, the Premium Times reported.

He further called on all Nigerians to support the nation through prayer. About 24 people are feared dead in the multiple bombings and subsequent reprisal attacks that rocked the city of Zaria in Kaduna. The state government has
