A quarrel between two women in the Lekki area of Lagos state on Wednesday afternoon turned deadly when one of the two, Morufat Bolaji, stabbed the other, Titilayo Toro, to death, police say.

According to the Punch, both women were mid fight when Bolaji allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Toro in the neck.

She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by residents in the area, but was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor.

Witnesses apprehended the suspect and reported the case to police, the report said.

A spokesperson for the police force in the state, Ngozi Braide, said the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba will further investigate the murder.

Braide said details of the actual crime are still murky, but says the body has been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
