Monalisa Chinda stars in “Silver Lining”, movie about autism

Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda is set to embark on a challenging role in an upcoming flick about autism.

The new movie, “Silver Lining”, premieres on Children’s day, 27 May, and features screen queen Chinda as the loving mother of an only child, Junior, who suffers from autism, a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people.

Chinda’s character, Ama, tries to keep her only son’s illness a secret.

The message-packed film was produced by Emem Isong of Royal Arts Academy and has Dotun Akande on as Executive Producer.

Akande, who is also the head of the Patrick Speech and Language Center said using a film was the strongest wayt o raise awareness about the movie.

“This is a tool we intend to use to touch people and let them know that autism is not a death sentence, however, early intervention is key.”

The premiere for the Tom Robson directed flick will take place on Sunday, 27 May at 10A Services Hall, Ikoya Street, off McPherson Road in Ikoyi, Lagos at 6 p.m.
